My hubby thinks I should take a HPT - my AF is very wierd this month - it came 4 days ealier than I expected and is extremely light for me. I don't know it seems more than spotting than seems to be associated with implantation bleeding (from what I have read), but it is really light compared to what I usually have.
Normally I go 7 days with the first 2 to 3 days being really heavy, medium flow the next couple and very light on day 6 and pretty much spotting on day 7. This cycle it has been very light spotting the first two days, a little heavier on day 3 and here on day 4 it is starting to be lighter again - I am guessing I will end tomorrow (5 days instead of 7).
Anyway, I did buy a couple of tests, but I am not sure when I should take one. They all refer to taking them in relation to your expect AF date (either before, day of or after). Should I wait until I stop bleeding? If I took it while I am still expericing a flow, could it affect the test (ie give a false reading)? Should I bother taking a test?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's possible that you could be experiencing implantation spotting. If today is the day you would have expected to start your period, you could probably test anytime. An early detection test would be most likely to give accurate results. Testing with first morning urine is also supposed to be the most accurate. I don't think any bleeding would affect the test, especially if it's light--it probably won't get on the test strip anyhow.
Good luck!
