What are some of the safer anxiety drugs available? My doctor mentioned a few drugs, some had some serious side effects. I plan on asking him to prescribe me something because it is hard living with anxiety all the time.

Always extremely anxious with a history of panic attacks, but lately its out of control, expecially regarding my health. I had at least a dozen terminal diseases in the last 4 months, all self diagnosed of course. Dont even want to begin with the amount of tests I had done, doctors seen, etc. Now I have some new problems that have been around for a while but hae never discussed with any doctors.

Any and every drug can have serious side affects, depending upon your reaction to them. The doctor who is prescribing you this medication knows your health and history and will not prescribe any medication that he/she thinks will hurt you. If the one prescribed does not work well, then they'll have you try another. The side affects are usually very minor, if any. You will know (once you are on something) whether or not it is doing you any good.
