is frequent heartburn a symptom of als? or could it be from medications?
my husband seems to be getting this a lot the last month or so. he is on iv rochepin, which we thought it could be that, but he gets it even before he takes it. Could it be his chest muscles weakening?

Hi 5labudas,
I am not a medical specialist but I can tell you that I have ALS and I went to my Neurologist complaining of stomach/heartburn problems. He directed me to my regular Doctor. My Doctor informed me that I had Acid Reflux most likely due to stress. She then prescribed Zantac and Prevacid for the heartburn. You should "really" voice this concern with his Neurologist or Primary Care Physician though because it could also be a side effect from a medication he is currently taking. Good Luck & God Bless

That's good to hear. I'm glad that was resolved. It's amazing how a bunch of little annoyances can add up and become so frustrating. Your husband is in my prayers. *Holly*
