Hi everybody! I missed you while I was away for the three days I was gone. I had a WONDERFUL time with my dear friends. It was an 8 hour drive down there and it felt like a ride across town. We laughed the whole time we were gone! We went through a town called Licking and I thought we were going to run off the road we were laughing so hard!

I read your posts, Sally, since you've come home (btw, welcome back!) and I totally understand about the cell phone. Unfortunately, I didn't turn mine off before I got frantic calls from my dh complaining about my son and dad. Dad went into one of his psycho moods while I was gone and dh got to experience what I go through when he does this.

Anyway, we took a ride through the mountains and went antique shopping. I found this old porcelain doll in great condition for $7 with the stand. What a bargain! And since I'm a Tweety fanatic, I bought a Barbie with Tweety. Couldn't resist! :)

You have to understand my exitment about these things. I rarely ever buy myself anything. So for me to treat myself to this is an extremely rare thing.

We rode through the mountains and went to Mammoth Spring, Arkansas on Saturday. We visited the state park there which was very beautiful but the best part of our trip was visiting with our friends.

They have a beutiful home out in the country on a private road. They have lots of land. I got to drive a John Deere 4x2 through their yard. I loved it! I felt like a kid. It was wonderful to have three whole days without a care in the world. No pressure, no hassles. Just a good time with friends. I haven't felt that free in YEARS!

It was truely a blessing.

Love, Barb

Hi Barb,

Welcome home! So glad to hear that you had the best time, lots of laughter with friends, and got to drink in the beauty of the mountains. Each time you look at the treasures you bought, you'll smile and hug yourself inside.

Sounds like it's time for your father to move into an assisted living facility or get him on a medication that prevents the psycho episodes or both. His doctor should know these outbursts are happening. Good luck!

As I said to Sally, good luck as you re-enter the fray.

Hugs - Barbara :)

Welcome home Barb ... glad you had a chance to recharge your batteries too, although already I am somewhat depleted LOL ..

I have a daughter somewhat ADDICTED to Tweetie and one of my nieces loves porcelain dolls .... and I think it's us 'carers' thta do the role of not buying for self but buying for others.

My ex-hobby,quilling (not quilting) has gone by the way-side, but is slowly being replaced by beading! I'm making sun catchers, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, sets, separates etc .. and so while we were away I took advantage of stocking up on some great beads I haven't seen in my home town ... much to the horror of my poor hubby who kept saying "MORE????" (Insert Oliver Twist tone here) but I had a blast and spent close to $50 on unusual beads and supplies. Now I don't want to use the beads cause they're special .. LOL

Anyway, welcome back ... and time to take a serious look at Dad too .. you've experienced 'YOU' time and will now appreciate just how special that is (I know I have, and I'm having ALOT of trouble at the moment being in this house)

Hang in there

Hugs
Sally
