what dose do you take, it can be a help in getting off to sleep, but if you can fall asleep without it then dont take it before bed
its a short acting med, usually only lasts a few hours

You will know if you are addicted or dependant if you stop taking it and a few days later all hell breaks loose. You will know in no uncertain terms. If that happens, rather than going to the er, I`d go back on the drug and consider a slow taper schedule. Xanax is not really a sleep med anyway, are other safer choices.

What are examples of other "safe" drugs. I seem to have the same issue. I can not get to sleep with out 1mg of Xanax.

Is Soma safer? My doc thinks maybe.
