I am just wondering if anyone knows much about lab values and what in a child should be looked into further. I read on a Hematology site if blood work is consistantly abnormal for 3 months you should go in to a specialist...
????? Not sure what to do

Our son has had nose bleeds and bruising now for 2+ yrs and in the past I take him in and the docs all say the same thing, use vaseline in the nose, humidifiers and nasal sprays..... Well those nose bleeds have turned into 4-5 times a week and 25-30 minutes nose bleeds. His Labs that were drawn in Feb 05 show Low Mean Platelet Volume and his Platelets were still above normal @ 318. Now at the end of April his MPV is still below normal level , and platelets are now in mid 200's. He already has an auto immune disease, so should this be looked into further???

Thanks
