View Full Version : What ARE you feeding your kids?

Study after study, time after time, it has been written that the foods we are eating do not contain valuable nutritional components.
Farmers grow hybrid varieties of vegetables and fruit which are NOTHING like what grew 100 years ago. They opt for quantity and not quality. The bigger the crop the better, is thier motto.
Valuable minerals and vitamins are sacrificed, both by growing hybrid varieties and then through processing of pre-packaged food.
Our kids are not getting a lot of the things they need to grow...hence the increase in things like ADD, and the inability for childrens immune systems to fight off disease.
Take a good look at what you buy at the grocery store. Do you check the labels? Do you buy natural foods? Do you look for and buy organic products? Do you give your children a wide variety of foods? Do you say 'No' to candy and sugar flavoured products?
Do you pass on ALL items with artificial colour or artificial flavour?

It takes us about 5 minutes longer every time we go shopping to check all the labels. We buy natural products, very low sugar items, very few processed items, except cereal, we buy organic whenever possible, and have an organic supplier of beef, pork and chicken. I actually pay 50% less for meat products than regular meat at the supermarket!

Supplements of Vitamin B complex and Zinc and Vitamin C are also in all our diets. We are very healthy, have a lot of stamina, rarely get ill and are very happy!

Nutrition starts at home, folks! Good habits learned in child hood will become part of a persons 'healthy life'.

Thank - you for that information. When I go shopping - I circle around the store - fresh fruits & veggies first, then fresh deli meats for sandwiches, then the meat department, then fish, then the dairy isles. I only enter the center of the store to buy my pastas, and cereals. My kids take a multivitamin and I've started taking B complex (from your suggestions I might add) as well as vitamin C.
Take care, and see you around on the boards.

Lynn893:

You should also take 20mg (or more) chelated zinc with the B...they work together.

So the big question is: Do you feel better? Have you noticed a difference in your stamina, and a clearing of your head? Are you sleeping better also?
B
