Hi, For the past month or 2, my 2 1/2 year old son has been displaying behavior that concerns us. At times, not all the time, he does something tiwce or three times. For example, he gets in a chair to eat
but he gets out of it and gets on it again. Or last night, he sat on the floor twice before I was about to pick him up to show him something. Also he sat on the floor twice before we started playing soccer in the basement. He has no medical problems. He has a cousin with quetionable Tourette Syndrome/Hyperactivity. I have an Aunt that we suspected OCD for the last 40 years, and my wife's brother with some undiagnosed mental problems. Other than these, family history is OK. Please help.

I'm not sure your son's behavior is abnormal. Children can be very indecisive and repatitive, does he ever get upset if he cannot repeat these things? Does he act as if he has to do these things or does it just seem like he's playing? if he seems more happy and playful rather than upset and compulsive then i wouldn't worry too much, but you know the situation better than i do, if you are worried enough to post on here then a trip to the doctors may be in order.
If he does have ocd now would be a good time to catch it...before he's old enough for it to really have a huge impact on his life.
