View Full Version : 7 yr old kidney is shrinking!

I am very concerned for my daughter. She is only 7 yr. old. It looks as though her RT Kidney is smaller and that it shrunk a little more. We see the specialist Monday. As it seems now, the kidney grew a little more in the length, however the weight did not . The radiologist sees no cysts or any growth at this time.

She had a prior ultra sound done 2 years ago as well as a VCG. The VCG was normal and no reflux.

There seems to be no idea how this happened or the cause.
She had LAB done and I still am waiting to hear what the Renal Panel/CBC says.

What is this? Is there a name to this? What can I be researching? How common is this?

Thank You in advance for your help.

No one knows?
Do you think a blockage of some sort would stop her kidney from growing?
