Jalewa 01-09-2001, 01:10 PM grandson 5 years old weighs 58 pounds. Any inside activites in a limited space to do after supper? Live in Minnesota so outside is not an option. Soni 01-18-2001, 01:12 AM I am totally confused, I don't think that 58 pounds is overweight, in fact I am confused on what the ideal weight is. I am a mother of 3, a soon to be 16 year old daughter who weighs 125 pounds, a 13 year old son who weighs 165 pounds and a 3 year old who weighs only 27 pounds. Now i feel my 13 year old is over weight and he gets teased alot at school and they call him fat, unfortunatlly he is only 5 ft. 2 inches tall. I wish you best of luck with your grandson and his weight. Soni Sssssssmokin 01-18-2001, 02:40 AM I don't think 58 lbs. is overweight for a 5 yr. old, my little girl just turned 4 and she weighs 43 lbs. and she isn't overweight just big for her age and solid. She isn't fat though by no means. I don't think your grandson is either. Susan1158 02-04-2001, 05:22 AM Hello, I must agree that is definatly not over weight for 5. My son is over 40 lbs and is three and a half. He is tall and and looks thin to me. My daughter was the same way. Thats what she weighed at that age and now she is 8 and looks like a string bean. I would make sure you minamize sweets and he eats healthy snacks and isn't in front of a TV all day and perhaps look for an Activity such as an indoor playground or Gynastics once a week. There are ways to get excercize without being outside. I have My daughter and son in Dance. My Son does an hr a week. He has Tap the first Half hr and Gymnastics the second half. I thought hubby would die at first but he realized that when he is of age to do a sport he will be more adjile and hopefully excell in sports. Good luck and don't worry. At that age my daughter looked twice the size of her tiny class mates. you should she how fast they all catch up. Sue Mother2 03-27-2001, 10:07 PM My son just turned 6 and weighs 51 pounds. I don't think that is overweight at all. He may be thick that is all. I wouldn't be concerned about that right now. He seems to be at a healthy weight to me. He may be short and just look heavy. Talk with a nutritionist or your pediatrician. Smile4uhun 03-29-2001, 04:10 PM My daughter is 8.5 and is 72lbs. as of Monday, perfectly normal weight...So I doubt if 58lbs is overweight. Relax Nettie 03-29-2001, 11:42 PM My son is six and is close to 80pds. He is tall and big for is age. He may be alittle over weight, but he is very active and his Dr. said if he could stay at this weight for the next yeat that he will probably grow out of it. |
