Hi! This may be a kind of weird question, but can children have any type of bad breath disease? My 4 year old daughter has the worst breath. We brush her teeth regularly but even after brushing them, her breath still smells bad. I asked her doctor about it and she said it could be sinuses or her adenoids. But, what can I do for it? I can't hardly stand to be around her in the mornings because it is so bad, but the thing is, it smells bad all day long. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

there may be bacteria in her mouth causing it. Try taking her to the dentist.

Hi I agree about the dentist but I think I would have her seen by an ear nose and throat specialist. Good luck

bad breath could be cause by a tooth - cavity
take your daughter to see the dentist.
Even with good brushing, it is hard to reach at the very back of the molars - thats were they begin to decay first. Not your fault if that's what it is - it happened to my son. Did your daughter take a bottle to bed? That is the BIGGEST cause of cavities in young children.
Good luck

My son had the same problem, and yes, it was due to elarged adenoids. When they were removed last year a cauterization method was used, so his breath was HORRIBLE for a couple weeks, but is much better now.

My 6 year old has the same chronichalitosis! I don't know why either we keep his teeth brushed and have had him to the dentist and his teeth were fine. It could also be coming from your child's stomach. So don't go getting adenoid surgery yet. If your child has an upset stomach that could cause it too or even just stomach acids.

Bad breath in children can be caused by many things. All of the above responses plus bad/diseased tonsils, liver problems, the bowels not evacuating properly,ketosis--possibly diabetes.
