my child who is 2 will be in this hospital and about 4 weeks to have her tonsils out she should only need to be there overnight...what can i do to relax her and make her feel better? will she be really sick after surgery....what can i expect while this is going on---any information you could share would be helpful

Don't worry about it. I had my tonsils out a few years ago and I'm 20! It's much better to have it done now then when she's older. She's two years old? Hum . .theres not much you can do to relax her. She will be sick for a few days. I imagine she will be in the hospital overnight. I was.
It would maybe be wise for you to look it up online or go to your hospital and get more information.
