I have severe neuromas (they have grown back after having surgery 6 years ago). Has anyone had a 2nd surgery for their neuromas and if so, how are you doing? I'd also like to know if anyone, who has Raynauds, ever had neuroma surgery and how they are doing. Thanks very much! Patty

I had 2 cases of neuroma following a bone infection when i was younger. It's been 15 years and i've had no other major occurences, The incision sight gets achey sometimes, but nothing like the neuroma in the first place.
The docs will just keep chasing the nerve and find places to bury the nerve bundle. In my case the original incision was 2.5in long and ended up being 9in. from the top of my foot to a quarter way up my leg.
Recovery was quite easy from what i remember, it was just good to have the pain gone. Hope this helps, and good luck.

There is quite a bit of information on another board that I cannot name due to the rules of this one. I'll try to summarize it as best I can. You might also want to do a
****** search for stump neuromas (that's what they are called whent hey come back)/
OK, most will return in 2-5 years. If you get beyond that your odds are much better.
The consensus seems to be that you find a surgeon who has experience dealing with nerve surgery. This will eliminate a lot of orthopaedic ones unless they specialze in hands or feet with nerve damage. Get references! While they cannot give you their patients names and numbers, they can ask their patients to call you! My neuroma was removed by an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in nerve damage. He is at a nationally known sports medicine clinic in my home town...his sports client list is pretty impressive. If you live in a city with a pro sports team, you might want to research who does this sort of surgery on their players and which ones have had it. If you can't get that info from the team's front office, call the sports department of the largest local newspaper and ask for the "beat reporter" for that team. He should know these things. Good luck!

Hello Titchou,
I see you surf the same sights too!!!!
Still suffering with my pain, have not had an relief. I was hoping that one day it will go away, as my surgeon said it takes approx 6 month - 1 year to settle. I am over the 1 year mark.....

Hey, Chantel...sorry you're still having pain....my surgeon had told me up to 18 months for total healing and that is wasn't linear healing...would be peaks and valleys. Boy was he right about that. With the cheilectomy he said it would be linear...better every day...and that was right too. Guess we just deal with it as it comes.
See ya!

The pad didn't work for me...I think I had just let it go too long. The surgery wasn't bad...never took anything but OTC pain meds....drove 350 miles by myself two days later. Swelling sure but not really a problem. It just did take a long time to totally heal...but I knew that going in. It has been a little over 3 years and I may be getting the first signs of a stump neuroma but it is vry slight and fleeting. If I do get one, then I'll just have it out too..same guy will do it. So, just researach the best person in town - the way I wrote before - and everything should go fine.
