Very Desperate

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those that have read my circumstances before, I apologize.
I have been ill for a year. Symptoms include colitis like symptoms, abdominal discomfort, belching, and neuropathy. Started with left shoulder blade pain, became tingling and numbness, turned more to muscle spasm and tremors, heart pounding, and i still have the soft mucousy stools. Sometimes when i have a bm, the neuropathy starts like fire in my limbs. It has settled in the feet all the time.
Had blood tests, lots of them, vitamin deficiencies, lyme, Celiac, etc. One slightly high celiac marker. 20 which is one above the norm.range. gastroscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel series, all show nothing. It seems to be tied in with the bowels, but i dont know. Or do i have severe spinal damage that is effecting my g.i. system? pancreatitis? lyme? gall bladder?
I dont know. The burning feels so bad, i feel i should be in a hospital(which i dont want to do), or will soon die.
Also suffering now with panic and depression. Anyone heard of anything like this? There was someone Ridley that posted a similar situation, but I cant get in touch with him.
Thanks

This is the first post of yours I've read - so be patient if I'm offering advice for something you've already been tested.
Have you had the full thryoid panel fun - FreeT3 and FreeT4 along with the TPO? All of your symptoms could actually be tied to having thyroid abnormalities.
Also - have the attempted an endoscopy (go down your thoat) to check gallbladder and pancreas?
The other thing you could be looking at is a bulging disc in your lower spine that is pressing on nerves (neuropathy) and if it pressing into your intestines - could be causing the GI issues. An MRI of the spine would detect this.
Hope someone else can offer up suggestions too.
Let us know if they ever find out what's up.
Wishing you the best!

Hi, I too have had similar symptoms and have had thyroid cancer and a total thyroidectomy and radiation in 1992. I also have been checked for Lyme and came up negative. This all started with a rash and has progressed to Lymphoma type symptoms and or Lyme type symptoms in a period of 2 years. Part of my problem is due to my thyroid or lack of thyroid and most likely because I was hypothyroid and not getting enough medication. I also have chronic pancreatitis caused by a perforation of the pancreas in 1989 due to a blow to the abdomen (hospitalized 9 weeks) Now from my oncologist I am getting a differential diagnosis of Lymphoma or lyme. Wow I am confused and so too is my poor family. I can feel for you though I go to ER about once every 6 months because of PAIN and feel like a hypochondriac. I know though that I am not and my medical problems are well documented and not my imagination. I too have the tingling and pain in one shoulder and now lymph nodes are swollen along with it. I can't tell you yet what problem is causing what symptom but will keep in touch and let you know if I figure anything out. Have an appt with ENT tomorrow and will be having biopsy of lymph nodes. Having these kind of symptoms and no positive diagnosis must be the hardest thing I have ever went through. I know that every day when I wake up I will most likely end up by nightfall sick in bed, it's wearing on everyone concerned and I hope you find a resolution to your problems too. My best wishes for your recovery, please don't give up hope for a diagnosis.

Well I just had to post again. I just had my re-check with my thyroid doc yesterday. I explained that I have been having crawling sensations all over my head. Well my thyroid is once again way low and he told me that low thyroid will cause NEUROPATHY. So they you have it - from what most will say is a thyroid guru.
Just thought I would let you both know - you are NOT a hypochondriac and you are NOT bi-polar (I thought I was) - you are a THYROID person. With Hashi's - your own thyroid will work for a bit and then not at all causing the wide range of symptoms between hyperT and hypoT.
Wishing you both the best!

Thanks for posting. Will be so glad when my thyroid hormone level is back to normal! The range of symptoms a thyroid problem can cause is overwhelming and I am beginning to wonder if the neuropathy is irreversible. I am supposed to get biopsy in 2 weeks or so, now wondering if I should wait till thyroid is back to normal before I do. I don't need any complications from surgery!
