Been suffering for over 15 years with daily pain and afraid to enter into surgury to remove a heel spur thats shaped like the bottom of Italy ( it's big and not a pretty heel to enter, as the doctor calls it. In essence I'm missing over 50% of my heel pad.
I'm 40, when I was 3 my heel was severed and reconnected from a bicycle. At 13 I had a crossover skin graph ( reconstructed the heel with tissue from my thigh). So I have a heel with hair and lots of scare tissue along with a calcaneous bone buildup on the outside which also needs to be shaved down, as it protrudes and rubs on the inside of all shoes. It's not a good situation. It appears surgury must be performed, otherwise I dont think I'll be able to walk in another 10 years as my left leg basically carries my 190lb frame whenever I find myself standing or leaning. This is a very unique situation and I'm looking for the best surgeon in the country, because I'm terrified that it could become worse after surgury.
