Hi all,

I am back again and I have some interesting news for all who are willing to read this post.

I have had kidney stones for years, always knew what kind and ate the right food and they still keep growing and growing, can't get them to stop growing.

Well I went to my urologist yesterday and she said that my xray looked great because I had my stones blasted a week ago, there are two tiny ones she said will pass.

Anyway she told me that she can't figure out why my stones keep growing, she has blasted them, put me on a low oxalate diet and nothing to no avail.

Here are some things I am going to list, if you have any of these symptoms along with kidney stones get a blood test and tell your urologist or nephrologist about these symtpoms, I just found out on my own after my urologist said she wants to check my blood. Symptoms below.......

Loss of energy. Don't feel like doing much, tired all the time.
Just don't feel well; don't quite feel normal, hard to explain but just feel bad.
Feel old. Don't have the interest in the things that you used to.
Can't concentrate, or can't keep your concentration like in the past.
Depression
Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
Bones hurt; typically its bones in the legs and arms
Don't sleep like you used to, wake up in the middle of the night
Spouse claims you are more irritable and harder to get along with cranky, crabby
Forget simple things that you used to remember very easily
Gastric acid reflux; heartburn; GERD
Decrease in Sex Drive
Thinning hair (predominately in older females)
Kidney Stones
High Blood Pressure (sometimes mile, sometimes quite severe; up and down alot.
Recurrent Headaches (usually patients under the age 40)
Heart Palpitations (arrhythmias) Typically atrial arrythmias.

These are symptoms of Parathyroid Disease. It is funny because I have been going through all of these symptoms for a while and couldn't find just one thing. I will get my blood work back in a few days so I am almost certain this has to be it.

If you have these symptoms along with kidney stones, please I beg you go see a doctor, this is not something to play around with.

Thanks for reading this long post.

JC,

I too am in the same boat as you. Can't figure out what is causing the stones and etc. I started all this in Jan. 2003, have had all the tests in the world and will have all the docs that I see from time to time run tests on thyroid and etc. I have over and under active thyroid in my family but my tests always come back fine. I feel the same as you, with having to try and diagnose myself. I did find out though 3 weeks ago in a laprotomy?spelling? that some of the same symptoms were from both of my ovaries being completly bound and covered in scar tissue from previous endometriosis and scar tissue. Was that the answer for me? I don't know we will see in time, now I just have to deal with being in surgical menopause and its complications along with kidney stones. Please let us know how your results come back, I hope that it has answers for you. Take care.

Shannon
