For any that are interested...One door closes and another opens.

I have been on 4 interviews. The first 2 I didn't especially want but would take. First said 3-6 months til they expect to make a decision

The second said 1 month. Who posts a job openening and waits a months to fill? Not-for-profit thats who.

The 4th and the one I want is doing a background check and am waiting to hear from them.

But yesterday I heard from the 3rd. They had hired another candidate because I earn too much. The manager also said he really like me and would contact me if there needs expanded in the near future but he also said he passed my name name along to another company he thought would be interested.

I didn't put too much faith in it and went to meet my brother at my niece's college softball game. We ate after game and I went to their house to help them out with a problem they are having within my occupation. Took care of their problem. Being an asset.

When I checked my email - sure enough an email from the company the manager had told me about. They want me to come in for an interview. Read the job description and it looks like a good fit

I willl be contacting them tomorrow. If you have room in your prayers for me I would appreciate it.

Starting day 15 :) Goal for today is to go to an AA meeting house and at least pick up a meeting schedule, maybe stay for a meeting.

Dads b-day is today and we are taking him out to dinner. I have to travel a bit so may not be on from early afternoon to late tonight. I hate traffic jams.

Boy, I keep you guys as informed (more on some things) as I do my family. and more informed than my friends.

Gr8,
Wonderful news about the poss job. It will happen one way or another. We just have to learn patience. If you dont mind, what is it that you do for a living? I know you meantioned in another post that you got your Sub teaching certificate in the mail the other day...
I was goint to ask you about AA meetings but you answered my question. I have the same goal in mind on Saturday. I had to spend the last few days (12 Yes !!) preparing myself for the courts, running errands (photo id, loan to pay for all the fees and such, and lawyer stuff. Not to meantion the wd's).
Have a good time with your family tonight. Keep calm in those traffic jams.

I called the company and it looks like wed for the interview.

About my occupation. I am keeping it a secret on the remote chance employers are reading this board.

Who says cocaine addicts are paranoid? :D

Maybe it will change my karma if I did tell or I could get some good advice from someone?

Let me think about it today. OK.

I got my sub teaching certificate to bring in some income until I get a FT job. It would be close to home and very flexible in when I work.

Do you want to take a guess?

 Hello and congrats on your interviews and possible job opportunities. I would like to take a guess on your profession....I am thinking that it has something to do with computers....your in IT maybe? I understand completely about being paranoid....but no one will find out who you are even if they were on this board....if you feel comfortable...please share with us! I too was once a coke addict but fortunatley I kicked the habit before it destroyed me. I actually had to drop all of my friends and move away to escape it. I count my blessings everyday for that! Now I've moved onto pills....I have CP and I have to take them...but I over indulge as well and its a constant battle....addiction sucks...no matter what it is that your addicted to at the time. Well...I wish you much luck my friend....and enjoy your time spent with your family this evening....tell your Dad happy b day from all of us here!!!

Hey, I could make this a contest. Except the only thing I could give as a prize is my 'One day at a time coin' Sorry am not giving it up.

Bragging rights, that's what you win.

I will divulge what I do when I get home tonight.

Shut up, paranoia :p

I know your profession already ! You work at a newspaper by day, and by night, your Superman !!

Where is Lois anyway? I always like those snappy little hats she wore.

Well I know what I'm doing on my Friday evening! I'll be logging on to find out the very fortunate occupation of a friend in this board! You are making people smile left and right with this thread...and boy do we all need a smile today! Thanks for that.....Louis Lane.....or should I call you a computer geek? :D Stay tuned....the answer will be coming shortly huh? :bouncing: Can't wait

There was a controversy with the winner.

Though Diva guessed the correct answer, I am a computer geek. The judges wanted to disqualify her for the Lois Lane comment. I am 100% male.

But I talked them out the DQ. Addicts arent always thinking clearly.

Brag away, diva

Honorable mention to Marilyn, when using I thought I was superman ;)

Tune in next week when we play guess my favorite cereal

Gr8ful....I am SOOOOOOOOOO sorry for the misrepresentation there on your gender! Didn't mean anything by it Mr Kent....promise! :D

Hope that you have a great weekend and please come back and chat with us anytime. We all like to play games every now and again.....takes our mind off of whatever each of us are dealing with at the time! :jester:

Hope you are sleeping right now like I should be....just woke up from a nightmare....couldn't have anything to do with the fact that I went to see Amityville Horror earlier this evening, could it?
I can honestly admit that I jumped more times in that theatre than I've ever jumped before....it was a true terror to sit through!
Oh well...I'm gonna get some warm milk in my system and try to get back to dream land. Have a great rest of the weekend and see you soon~
