Hi all
I am having problems with my medication & bone loss & will be seeing my Dr. about a possible change of medication ( I am on Dilantin ) .
What I would like to ask is what anti epilepsy medications have less of a negative affect on bone loss .
In case it will not be recommended to change my medication is there any kind of supplement I could take to counteract the ill affects of bone loss .
Thanks again Craig

I don't know how long you've been on dilantin, but I had been on it for about 12 yrs. before I finally got a DEXA scan. I am currently on Evista for my osteopenia. I took myself off dilantin because of the DEXA & am on Keppra, which is supposed to have less damage to the bone. My Dr. always suggested calcium & vitamin D.
