JCS, Almost 5 months!!!!!! Wow, that is so great. I know that your back hurts but please, DONT GIVE IN! You are so lucky, look at so many of us who cant go 5 hours, 5 days, 5 weeks, without relapsing. But YOU have made it almost 5 months! That is a HUGE ACHIEVEMENT!!!!!!

What have you tried to relieve the pain? Hot shower or bath? How about a heating or message pad? What over the counter meds have you tried?

Let us know, maybe we can give you some recommendations on something for you to try that you havent already.

Remember........STAY STRONG! DONT GIVE IN TO THE PAIN! YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!!!

Hey JCS, I am in the same boat as you are. I have had back surgery and have neck issue's to. I am in agony some days but I find that if I take it easy, REST and lay low, use Ice and my hot tub and take good old Ibuprofin with muscle relaxers I can usally nip it in a few days... and than I am fine....the 2 times I have fallen off the wagon were for the same reason, MY BACK pain came back and I got hooked again, just remember how hard it is to go through withdrawals HORRIBLE ahchy legs, and sick feeling for weeks.... you can't give in millions of people deal with back pain every day and don't use narcotics, my husband is one of them. we have to tough it out...
hang in there!!!

5 months. That's awesome. Keep it up! :)

I am still using tramadol. I have clean moments, but usually relapse quickly. I too, have chronic pain issues. NSAIDS hurt my stomach too much. Now that I am more physically active, the pain is worse and persistent. I sense w/d's sometimes.

My friend's cousin committed suicide Friday morning at 7:15 A.M. because of oxycodone w/d's. :(

I have a bad back myself, I had 3 surgeries in the past, the reason I also got hooked on the crap, talk with your doctor and tell him what is going on and that your an addict, if he's a good doc he will help you, you and him can work on the problem your having now, I have been off of the hydro's for 5 days, I was on it since 1993 everyday, sure I have back pain these days without my pills but I am learning how to handel the pain, you have been off of it for 5 months you can't start back on them again because you will be back on pills everyday, you've done so good why blow all the hard work.
