11:00, 11:30, 12:30, 2:00, "If I can fall asleep in the next 20 minutes I still can get 4 hours of sleep." 3:00, 3:30 and then you fall asleep with only a couple of hours before you have to get up.
Does anybody else have nights like this on occasion?
It sucks!!!!

Everynight is like that for me. I go to bed about 3 or 4 in the morning and have to get up at 6:30. I dont sleep good and then stay up till about 3 or 4 in the morning again and I always tell myself okay tonight will be different and I will go to bed at 10:00pm and it never happens. I am so sleepy all the time I some times sound drunk when I talk. The only thing is that everyone I talk to they want to give me sleep aids and I dont want to take them because you can get hooked on them but I have to say I did try a half of one and I slept for about 12 hours not getting up once and then the next day I was even more sleepy. So I dont know what to say but good luck and I hope there is something out there that will work. They say it is more than likely STRESS.. lol who doesn't have stress in they lives.lol

I always have nights like that. I usually get about 5 hours of sleep each night if I'm lucky. I can't sleep to well tonight for some reason. I only had 3 hours of sleep last night. Went to bed at 4:30 and my mom woke me up at 7. I always have nights where I have alot of trouble falling asleep and I just lay there hoping I'll fall asleep fast. My mom usually doesn't fall asleep till after midnight and she still doesn't get enough sleep. I think everyone has nights like that. It gets very annoying for me when I'm so sleepy and I lay down and sleep and wake up an hour after that.
It's real big pain in the butt :yawn:

Guys and Girls;
I had very similar problems, and I take heavy duty relaxers for periodic limb movement. My sleep doc asked me to ignore the clock. She said unplug it if you can, if you need the alarm (which I do for work) then turn it around so you can't see it from bed. She said it would be a little odd at first, and you immediately dismiss it as stupid, but it will work. She said that we get into cycles of waking and sleeping, and taking the clock out of the situation will help to break the cycle.
Sure enough, within a week I was waking up less during the night, and even then only to use the restroom or get some water. I now sleep with my clock turned towards the wall every night.

Yes, I've had many nights like that. It is horrible, I do sympathize. All I can say is, don't do what I did and suffer for years before fixing it.
I've even had nights where I lie there for 10 hours and the sun rises and everybody wakes up and I haven't even had 1/2 hour sleep. Then I've had to go through the day on 0 hours sleep and pretend everything's fine and cook dinner without cutting my finger off etc.

This post is so what I am feeling today. I kept looking at the damn clock and I ended up psyching myself out. Its amazig how fast 5AM comes when you go to bed at 1AM. By the time it gets to 400 I am freaking out and cant sleep at all. I might have to turn my clock around and ignore it.

Hi,
I thought feeling sleepy during the day is normal. I bet most of us feel sleepy at least one time during the day. As long as you r not tired, you should be ok. You don't have to sleep a lot. Never put pressure on yourself to go to bed. Let it be nature.
Antidepression is an addition. Please don't take it.
Take care!

I attended a lecture a doctor gave on sleep disorders. He also said not to look at the clock during the night, he said to turn it around so you can't see it. I found it very odd, I never tried it. Can't believe that this will help. I think if I turn my clock around I will be lying there all night wondering what time it is! :confused:

I like the idea of turning the clock(s) around as so one cannot see the time. Strange that this actually helps... It's about 1am here now and it's when I'm normally online, but if I didn't know that it was 1am, I might not be online at this moment. Maybe it's just a mental thing?

Yes, I have many nights like that! For years I would have problems because my mind would just keep going and going, but I was recently prescribed ambien and it works most of the time for me. I also read you could get hooked on it, but I try to alternate and go a few nights without it on the weekend so it is out of my system, but I do very well with it overall and feel refreshed most of the time even though I still do not get a lot of sleep. Otherwise I am up until the middle of the night or all night and grumpy and exhausted. Weekends I am up until 4 or 5 then at least I can usually sleep until 10 or 11. Hang in there, you need to do what you are comfortable with truly I had a fear of taking any medication before but I think if you use it in moderation it works fine. If I take Ambien too many days in a row I get very tired during the day then I know I have had too much.
