If one has bloody stool and that person does have colon cancer at what stage are they at?
Does bloody stool appear at stage 1 or 2 or 4?
Also is there any mucus involved with the bloody stool if its colon cancer?
My brother is going to be checked on Monday, the scope thing.
So at this time Im just tring to figure out what the chances its colon cancer or colitis, IBS.

Bloody stool is an abnormal sign and could mean cancer at any stage. The only way your bother will know for sure is when he has a colonoscopy (and I hope that's what you mean by him getting scoped, and not just an anoscopy). Mucous is a normal secretion of the bowel, although most of the time it cannot be seen. Don't try to figure it out on your own, encourage your brother to have a colonoscopy.

Yes, you cannot go by blood in the stool to determine diagnosis or stage of colorectal cancer....my husband had no blood in stool and was diagnosed stage 111C! The only way to be sure is to have a colonoscopy.
