Well two weeks ago I went to the doctor because it was burning when I would urinate and he made me pee in a cup and then he also took a swab and put it on a slide under the microsope and came back and told me I had chlamydia and the ONLY person I could have got it from was from a girl I slept with in Florida about a month ago. So I called her and told her that she gave me chalmydia and that she needed to get checked. So she went to her health clinic and they made her pee in a cup and then told her she did indeed have chlamydia, BUT they also took two tubes of blood from her and told her that they were having the tubes of blood sent off to check her for other stuff just to be safe. Now they called her back yesterday with the results and GREAT NEWS..... they told her everything came back fine (except for chlamydia whcih came out positive because at the time she gave the blood she had chlamydia) and all the results were negative! That took a load off my shoulders. Now my question is, what exactly do you think they tested her for when they sent in the two tubes of blood? I know they tested her for other STD's but whcih ones do you think if they sent in blood to be tested? Just curious. Thanks a bunch in advance.

Whenever I went to get tested for std's they checked for gonorhea, syphilis, clymadia and aids. Thats all. yup yup.. so probably they checked her for aids as well.

Well what about herpes, HPV, or hepaptitis? Can they check her blood for those or would they have to do that when she goes to get her pap smear? Just wondering because I will be getting checking just to be safe, but I want to check for everything and I read that there isn't a way to check for HPV in males? Is that true? Can they check for herpes in males? Thanks.

Herpes - blood can be tested for herpes, but the gold standard is a swab test from an active sore. So unless you have a sore, you will probably not be able to be tested.

HPV - there are no reliable tests for HPV in men. Again, unless you have a visible wart, you are unlikely to be diagnosed.

Hepatitis - this is diagnosed via a blood test. Tests for hepatitis are not usually included in a standard STD screening. If you are concerned, you can ask your doc for it.

Good luck.
