I am new to this board, but I have a question. I am 7 months pregnant and I cannot sleep very well. My doctor prescribed Zanax a few months ago, but I ran out of them, and I didn't want anymore. Again, I cannot sleep and the dr prescribed Ambien. Has anyone used Ambien while pregnant? It makes me feel VERY weird, confused, and when I get up to walk (like the bathroom, since pregnant women pee all the time hehe), I feel half-drunk. If this medicine has that affect on me, what is it doing to my baby???? If anyone has any advice or had similar situations, please let me know!! It does help me sleep, but I don't want to do something that may turn out bad. Also, if someone did use this while pregnant, how often did you take the drug?? I just started using Ambien last week, and I took one every night. Is this safe? Please help.

ambien is a stronger med than xanax and your problems from it are are typical

try a smaller dose, split the tablet into halves or quarters if needed

a long soak in a hot bath before bed usually helps, also try warm milk

xanax is a short acting valium type med, it helps you get off to sleep but wont keep you asleep long
