well i posted the same title and topic about a year ago it was april of last year im only 16 and im really scared......

since april of last year i have had the facsicalations all over my body
it seems to go away for about a week or so then come back and then go on for awhile and come back.

it feels as if my muscles are weaker then before but not anything vastly to where i cant stand or anything i mean i can still play basketball and stuff it just seems im sore after a bit and stuff

i havent lost any weight since this occured, if anything ive gained because im worried

my mom and everyone in my family think im nuts cause i always tell them that i think i have it and stuff cuz i had all the possibil brain tests back last year bcuz i was in a skating accident where i hit my head and just so happens that same day my friend died of a brain anuerysm he was only 16 as well.....when i first started to get the fasicalations i told my doctor and he told me about ALS but i had already known about it and he said it's a very slim to none chance that it occurs in young people mostly people over the age of 40 and soo but ever since my skating accident ive felt extremley weird ive never really gained back the person i was before the accident, not only with the twitches and stuff but it feels like as if im always in a dream state of mind like nothing seems real it's very weird over the year ive became more used to this dreamy feeling but i still havent been able to get ALS outta my head......im only 16 and i really dont wana die i feel as if i should have a whole life ahead of me.....but that's my story....any suggestions will be appreciated thanks.

hi tyler

you should look at lyme disease as a cause. lyme is present on every continet except antarctica. trama like your fall and losing your friend can bring out a dormat infection. many people have lyme bacteria in their systom and the imune system supresses it. visit the lyme threads and ask for help there.

Don't freak out until you are SURE you have it. There's always a chance you don't, that's it's something else. Get a doctors opinion and go to a counselor.Maybe it's just post tramatic stress disorder.

Try to relax, First of all ALS symptoms are progressive and if you had the start of symptoms a year ago, you would be much worse now. Once somthing is affected by ALS- It does not get better for a time, then worsen again. Emotional stress can wreak havoc on the body. You need to see your physician and discuss your concerns with him/her.
To have ALS at your age- is extremely, extremely rare, and your symptoms and progression do not fit the ALS diagnosis.
