Hey guys, my two yr old daughter wont sleep on her own. I have tried everything to get her in her bed. I even tried letting her sleep with her sister who is three and that didnt work either. Any ideas?? I dont know how much longer I can stand sleeping with her. It is affecting my sleep and my hubbys and other things.....I appreciate all replies.

It needs to be a gradual transition. Both of my kids slept with me untill they were 2...the way i got them sleeping in their own beds was to do it gradually. I know my daughter would not sleep in a crib for anything...ever..so if your putting her into a crib consider getting her a toddler bed. Buy her a toddler bed and put it right next to your bed...let her get comforable sleeping in it...she'll be close to you and not in your bed, after a week or so of her sleeping good next to your bed move her accross the room so her bed is no longer next to yours at all try to have them as far apart as possible so she gets used to sleeping alone, the next step is into her own room or a siblings room. The key is to do it gradually, if she doesn't have a "big girl" bed of her own yet take her out to get one and let her help pick it out so she gets excited about it. It does need to be a gradual change tho, she'll be more comforable with the transition if she knows your not pushing her away. Also, If she's used to falling asleep with you, start reading her a book or something else at bedtime to keep that closeness with her, make sure she's nice and quiet before bed, not hyper, if it's a bath, book or just a few minutes of cuddling that she needs give it to her, it'll be much easier to get her to sleep if she's already quiet when it's bedtime.
