I wore braces and retainers for 12 years about 14 years ago. Six days ago I had my upper right wisdom tooth extracted and now my front teeth have all moved forward. I'm so upset about this because I feel like 12 years of orthodonture have all gone down the drain. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and what you did about it? Would having my bottom two wisdom teeth extracted help remedy my problem? Or should I go back to an orthodontist...again? Please help!!

were the wisdom teeth already in the mouth when the braces were put on, if so the dentist should have removed them first. If they were not in the mouth an xray should have been taken to see what kind of position they were in . if they were impacted they should have come out before braces were put on. If they looked straight then assuming they would come in straight and they didnt and had to removed anyway a retainer type brace can be put back on to line them back up.
