Hello, I am the proud grandma of a beautiful 5 year old girl. My son and his wife cannot keep her in her own bed at night. She sneaks into their room and crawls into their bed when they are asleep. When they wake up, there she is. How can they teach her to stay in her own bed at night? They have tried special treats and rewards for staying in her own bed. It works for a couple days and then back to co-sleeping again. Any ideas would be great. Thank you to all who write back.

Since this has been going on for some time as she is five.............when she crawls into their bed and they realize she is there they need to walk her back to her bed and tuck her back in stay with her until she is settled down some. From your letter it sounds like the don't feel her come into thier bed any more but surely they must have felt her when she was younger since you tend to be a lighter sleeper when the kids are little in case they need something at night. What did they do back then when this all started? That was the time to start taking back to her own bed. Hopefully they can start to realize when she crawls in and redirect her each and every time. Once she realizes that she will be taken back to bed each time she should get the idea that she needs to sleep in her own bed.
