View Full Version : stopping Lexapro cold turkey

So i found out i was pregnant, and i stopped lexapro cold turkey, which probably wasnt the best idea. ive been taking 10 mg everyday for a couple yrs now...so i do get this wave of lightheadedness and dizziness. did anyone else get this and for how long? i stopped taking it Wednesday last week and i still feel like its still trying to come out of my system...blah

I think Lexapro is actually one of the drugs that's safe during pregnancy, but I'm not sure. I quit Lexapro cold turkey after a month, and I had no adverse reactions. If you were on it for two years, though, your body may take awhile to adjust. You may want to ask the prescribing doctor what s/he recommends. I'm sure s/he'll understand, if you bring up your pregnancy concerns.
