Finally, the deed is done. TAH last Tuesday morning, groggy on Wednesday but catheter out and up out of bed for one hour, Thursday started pacing the coridoors, Friday had bowel movement and I was on my home. YIppee :bouncing:
One week later, stitches are still pulling a little but it is easier to get out of bed now. Had a little pinkish blood appear too but only a few spots so I guess I need to rest up a little more for next couple of days. My body certainly is telling me when to stop.
On positive side, am taking only paracetamol once a day and although I am still sore from surgery, I don't seem to feel the same type of pre-op pain.
I've been told to wear these silly socks for 6 weeks to prevent blood clots, anyone else ACTUALLy done this??
regards to all

Well, I didn't have to wear them for six weeks, but when I had my tubal pregnancy surgery, they made me wear them and I HATED THEM. I have issues with my feet as it is. I hate socks in bed....almost kind of a claustrophobia feeling. So I feel for ya, that's for sure! Are you still wearing them?? How is your recovery going? Are you still continuing to do well?

Hi
I wore them for about 10 days at home but could not stand them for any longer. The only good point was that it is still quite cool here in UK so I was glad to wear something cosy.
Recovery going ok but slow. Scar area is low to heal but I had very little significant pain.
I am so far really glad I went through with it. My back pain has gone completely (my uterus was enlarged and pressing against nerves), my cramps have completely gone, my bleeding completely gone. I am bracing myself for smptoms to recur but keep fingers crossed that they dont. I kept my ovaries and they are still working (they can sometimes shut down temperarily).
thanks for asking

Having my uterus emoved was the best thing I ever did. My body feels like a kids again. no cramps,no bleeding,no pads,no tampons,no stained underware,no birthcontrol,no backache, No wondering when my period will show up and for how long. Love it. Still a little breast tenderness and food cravings around my cycle time but thats it.
