for a year now, ive been getting headaches, but it wasnt till Jan '05, that i noticed them to be really bad. before a year ago, i would probably get maybe 2 or 3 headches per year. now i get 2 or 3 headaches per month (since Jan.) and i need to vomit also. the headaches are on my forehead (above my eyebrows) and starts off dull then gets stronger if i dont take any advil. but i have noticed as the months go by, my symptoms arent getting as bad. i dont need to vomit anymore, but i still get really sick to the stomach, i use to get dizzy and sometimes weak. i dont think i get those anymore...

1. Can u all of sudden get miragrains???
2. What causes headaches???
3. How do u know ur having a miragrain and not just a regular headache???
4. How do u get rid of them???
5. And do they make u get nausa and vomit???
6. Does miragrains run in the family???

my older sister also goes through this, but she can be even worse. she'll break out into hives cause of her headaches. (even my other sis gets headaches, but im not to sure abt her.)

and my mom always had headaches, but it turned out she had a tumor and cancer in her head. for a long time, the drs wouldnt believe her. till once day she bugged the dr hard enough. they took a cat scan there it was, her tumor. my sis has gone to the dr b4, and the dr just said its stress related, and didnt even take an x-ray. but now, im getting the same things as my sis. what stress do i have??? ive even gotten them when i was out having fun. tumors in the head do run in my family. has anyone gone through what im describing, or even just a lil bit???

Migraines are usually predominantly on one side of the head, though not always. Sometimes you get an aura first, which is a flashing of lights, usually in one eye, or double vision. They can start quite suddenly, and often cause nausea. If you take advil(or whatever medication) as soon as you feel the headache you will get relief faster than if you wait till the headache is more severe. They can be caused by stress, or by bright lights, or some food like red wine, caffeine, and cheddar cheese. It is really helpful to keep a diary of your headaches, so that when you go to the doctor you can say exactly how often you get them and what you think sets them off. They do seem to run in families. I used to get migraines only once or twice a year, then more frequently till it was more than two or three times a week. Mine are probably hormonal, since I am entering menopause, but are controlled now with prescription medication. Read all you can and get lots of information on headaches, and you will be able to figure out what is happening to you.
