View Full Version : Horseshoe Kidney And Drinking Cows Milk

Hello all,

My 13 month old son who has a horseshoe kidney with a reflex grade 2 is still on a non-dairy based formula and the WIC program that he is on wants to put him on cows milk.
I have been told by several people that not only is cows milk not as good for you as people seem to think, but it is hard on your kidneys and if you only have one, than stay away from cows milk.
I have tried to research this information on the web, but have come up short. I guess I am looking for someone with knowledge about this subject and any info you may have.
I can not afford to buy my sons formula on my own for I am a low income family and he is on Similac Alimentum which cost $23-$25 for a 16oz can. (just in case some of you are wondering why I don't just forget the WIC program and buy it myself.)
Basically, I need some hard proof to take with me to my appointment so they will continue to give my son his formula.

Any help will be appreciated.
