I am on day 15 of Lexapro. My Dr. told me to play around with it to see which worked better day or night. I take mine first thing in the morning and sleep like a rock all night long.

Trazadone will put you to sleep if an AD keeps you awake at night. I take it for mild depression and insomnia and it works for that. 50 mg is usually the starting dose.

Hi Jamera,
My understand is that Lexapro affects people in different ways. I was instructed by my MD to take it in the evening between dinner and going to bed. It took a week or two to adjust but I've been on Lexapro for 4 months now and haven't noticed any increased problem with sleeping. I would ask your MD if you should try taking Lexapro at a different time of day.
Good luck.

nahk, I started taking Lexapro about 3 weeks ago and am very concerned about gaining weight. You said you lost weight. Have you noticed a decrease in your appetite? I've noticed an increase in mine. I follow a low calorie/low fat weight loss program so I know I'm not eating more food but I WANT to! Are you eating less? Thanks!

gingerweezie I think I have lost of appetite But I am not eating that less. Before starting with med my doctor did told me that you are going to lose weight in the begining and may put on some weight after 6 months because I was concerned about the wieght gain too.
are you having sleeping problem too how did you adjust to that.
