Have you asked the pharmacist or neuro if this is ok? Sorry I have teens and have not encountered it yet....

Hope the doc can help you!

I have used alternative treatments in favour of orthodox medicine for over 30 years now....with dramatic results. I have helped family and friends and seen massive changes in their health.

On one occasion I did research for a friend of mine who had grand mal epileptic fits every day and was on the strongest medication available.....she accepted the results of my research and the fits stopped immediately....all was well for 3 weeks till the next appointment with her doctor came up, and he was furious....... even though she had enjoyed 3 weeks free from fits....when she told him what she had been doing. He threatened to strike her off his books if she continued with this nonsense, so she went back to the medication and having the fits!!

Because of the results I got from her I recommended my research results and made visits to other sufferers....children in particular ..... and finally was invited to the Clinic to give a talk....doctors there listened, but were not convinced that it was wise to move away from orthodoxy!!!

Epilepsy is a lack of magnesium. The solution is simple....try it!!

Take half a teaspoonful of EPSOM SALTS in fruit juice every morning

It works.
It does you no harm.

All the best.

You can go to ****** and do a search on "nursing while taking Keppra"

What I found on my search.

During breast-feeding, Keppra will pass to the baby in the breast milk. For this reason, you should not breast-feed while taking Keppra.

Make sure that you and your prescriber, or if you have one, your epilepsy specialist, discuss breast-feeding and Keppra.

You also can ask the pharmacist for an insert. That has the info they along with the docs receive re the meds. I take keppra and based on how it affects me, I would have to say it is safe. If you took it while pregnant and do not have concerns, I would not be concerned about nursing your baby. It isn't going to cause genetic changes now. How Keppra affects you may be an indicator of how it may affect your child. That is a guess though. Make a call to the pharmacist and ask them to check the insert. Phoebe

Keppra is passed thru breast milk...I would not breastfeed. Go to www.keepra.com and register with the eplilepsy pregnancy registry and read the information. Hope this help. How many mg are you taking per day?
