ASK THE DOC to refer you to a specialist. Since the docs are not referring you on your own then "demand" aka tell them you want your child examined by a specialist. There could be tons of reasons for his incontinence but you won't know without tests to rule out any medical cause.
Does your son pass water frequently in the day and in the night? Can he feel the coming of urine? About how many times does he wet his pants every day? How long has he been like this?
First you must try to learn if there is a disease in his spinal cord.If you can make sure it's not a problem of congenital damage of nerves,it must be due to a disorder of function of some organ.
In Traditional Chinese Medcine, this disorder is often caused by two conditions:heat in the lower body or defficency of kidney and/or lung and/or spleen?
You can take him to see a TCM doctor.Tuina massage of TCM or herb is fit for him.
I have cured a 7-year-old girl with Irretention of urine and stool through Tuina massage. She got it half a year ago not since his birth. She had a habit of engorgement ,and the retention of indigested food which resulted in heat of large intestine. If your child had a habit of prefering a lot of cold food or drink or peppery food or a lot of meat. He'd better get rid of them.Cold makes organs deficient and peppery food and meat brings heat to body.

has he been checked for a bladder infection? take him to the doctor and ask to be refered to a specialist, i have an 8 year old who occasionaly wets the bed...my doctor told me that as long as he isn't wetting himself durring the day there isn't a problem...since your son is i would suggest finding a new doctor for him if his present one is unwilling to get to the bottem of his problem.

It could just be that he has nothing more than a urine infection, that once this is resolved he will be fine again.
Is he normally dry during the day or has he ever been? I would suggest that you find another doc, as there could be some nerve damage, which means that messages will not get through, telling him that he actually needs to empty his bladder.

He has never been dry,he might have the odd good day.He has other problems as well i dont know if they have any thing to do with it,he is very small for his age 8 1/2 years 44 1/2 inches tall,He see s the school, psycologist she figures he has add, nothing has been confirmed there yet,he is going to see a hearing specialist in oct.His hearing is fine its some other kind of tests that there doing i dont qhite understand them yet.He has no friends his age in shool he plays with kids from kindergarten.I am going to take him back to the doc again, when i go in for the hearing test and iam going to demand them to send him to a specialist, the thing is he dont care if hes in wet pants,i have to tell him to go change,is this normal or do you think because he s done it for so long that he just dont care anymore.I feel really bad for him, kids his age have been to lots off birthday party s hes been to 1 and he says i dont know why he invited me,he did go though, but usually he just gets left out and ends up playing alone.I have three other kids there all fine,no problems.

It could very well be that the two are linked. This kind of thing in kids can sometimes have a psychological basis as well as a physical one.
I think that you should definitely go back to your pcp and demand to be referred to a specialist, either urology or neurology to check him out physically, but I really do think that he should continue to see a psychologist too. I take it that she is an Ed. Psych.? It is possibly that he is being bullied in school or something like that and hopefully by using different methods, she may be able to get to the bottom of this. Play therapy is sometimes useful.
Good luck and post back as to how you get on.

have you had your son examined by a nuerologist yet its sound like he may have a spine diorder or cerebral palsy or a nueroscular disease because he may not be able to feel his urine comming out.does he have bowel problems with loosing control of his bowel movements.is ha having any problems walking learning problems or anything like that i would take him to a good pediatrician who can refer you to a neurologist but this really should be done asap.keep us updated tmm35

My son is only 4 1/2 and he has already seen a pediatric urologist and been diagnosed with some type of spasmatic bladder problem.
You should demand to see a specialist as this not only effects your sons physical develepment but also his social welfare and psychological develepment.
You have waited far too long and need to take things alot further. Good Luck.
