I asked this in the dental problems section and got no answer. I have a badly neglected tooth that I need to get pulled, and I'm trying to get to a dentist soon. I am depressed, and I've noticed that the depression seems worse lately. At first, I blamed it on some prescription meds I'm on right now for pharyngitis (interfering with my AD), but then I started wondering if my bad teeth could be to blame. It seems interesting that a couple of days after this started, my tooth became much more sensitive (reacting to cold liquids and foods with high sugar content). I'm hoping it's one of these, frankly, because I don't like the form of depression it seems to be taking. It seems to be excess hopelessness and a bit of a feeling that something, anything, bad's going to happen.

It is normal when you are sick or are having physical problems for the depression to worsen. It could also be a reaction to the pain meds and the AD. I hope you get that tooth taken care of soon. If you continue to be more depressed talk to your doctor about it.

Best wishes,

i totally agree with sam. its like when u have a cold or the flu, u feel completly run down, mentally and physically. mental problems will almost always affect the body and vice versa thats why people say a positive mental attitude will help heal the body of a lot of physical ailments.

good luck with ur tooth :)

Hey there:
I have front venners and from time to time ( every a few years ) one of them falls and yes, it makes me depresed, mostly because it is up front , I cant go out or want anyone to see me, I feel im ugly, and whenever is fixed, i feel better. Some of us cant stand have a physical problem.

take care of your tooth and it will problably take care of your depresion
