Hello! Can anyone tell me if they have been on Lexapro (anti anxiety meds) and had loose stools? I think that the loose stools tie into about the same time that I began the Lexapro and I just wondered if there was a connection. Thanks!

ANY new thing you put into your body (or STOP putting into your body) will most likely have an effect on your bowels - either loose stools, hard ones, not going for days at all... most medication has some side effects also, even if it doesn't SAY it's a side effect, it could be affecting YOU that way (example, I get constipated when I eat fruit, even though that is supposed to make stools better, it makes them worse for me because that isn't something that my body is used to).

Lexapro DEFINITELY causes loose stools in the beginning. This will go away within a couple of weeks as your body adjusts. All of my frineds that are on Lexapro experienced the same thing. But like I said, all of their symptoms resolved with a two weel period. I was supposed to gp on LExapro, but did not want to chance this side effect as I already have hemorrhoid/fissure issues.

I am not sure if my previois post showed up. If it did, please ignore this one. I am not very technically inclined.

Firewoman, I am having problems too - and if you look at the posts, it'll still say ZERO even though this post has several!

OK, now it shows 4 posts! (I just posted this and THIS post didn't come out!) This is the second time I am saying this... so it's the board, not you Firewoman! :)

Thanks Sunlover. Ya, I guess it was just a problem with the boards.
