ok im about 45 pounds over weight or so i think.. im 6ft 3 in and 16 years old.. i weigh 210 when i was in basketball i weighed 195 but that was 2 months ago when it ended but i will be starting it up again soon.. i am going to start running 2 miles a day to get back into shape for basketball but i want to lose my stomach fat really bad this summer and i have some back fat too but it isnt that bad but i want to get rid of that too... i think i need to lose just under 3 pounds a month in order to reach my goal by the begining of september.. im going to only eat 3 meals a day breakfast cherrios with slice of toast no butter.. lunch ham sandwhich with pretzels 80 cals and choc. milk 160 cals.. then whatever my mom makes for dinner only just cut back on it... do u think if i do all of this i could reach my goal?? any other tips?? thanx for ur help!

:bouncing: Yes I think if you eat healthy and in moderation you should acomplish your goal, just remember loosing weight takes time and patience...Take care and good luck! :wave:

Don't forget to eat whole wheat bread and drinks LOTS of water. I've found breaking my food up into 6 small meals over every 2-3 hours really helps me...

i was a competitive athelete from age 8 to age 31 and i lost my "edge" and my fitness and gained 50 pounds... i posted a message "Getting rid of fat and becoming fit again"...
i think what this message board is about is that we all struggle with these issues and its good to know there is support...
be careful "running 2 miles a day" at the same pace because you will build slow twitch muscle fiber and lose your spring in your jump...
Let's say mon, weds, and friday you do a 30 minute lower body and upper body weight workout, then use a stairmaster, with the pace faster sometimes and slower with some 12 minutes of jump roping after you will find yourself losing weight and getting quicker too!
On tues, thurs and saturday play basketball for an hour and afterwards shoot around for 30 minutes, with the ball only being allowed to bounce once after a basket or a miss, give yourself 2 quick dribbles then shoot again - if you do this and stay focused you will be burning fat, losing weight, and improving your game and toughness !
Drink lots of water, eat a large breakfast for energy, a moderate lunch, and a small supper ( not eating after 7 pm) ... snack on fruits and DRINK A LOT OF WATER!
