Hi everyone,

In August of 2004, I fell, broke my fifth metatarsal in two places and tore two ligements(grade 3 sprain) in my ankle. Doc did not want to do surgery, which I was happy about recommended PT. I have been in PT for just under 8 months and I still have severe pain and lack of mobility. Oh, by the way this is a workers comp injury so I am at their mercy. I am currently seeing Pain Mangement Specialist who has me on fentanyal patch and percocet because WC does not see a point of a Ortho or Pod following me through PT. I recentlyy had a second MRI done it states that the ligament "appear to be healed" and there is "no significant joint effusion" and the fractures have healed. My foot and ankle are still significantly swollen 3" difference between good and bad foot. I am in an extreme amout of pain, I can bear weight but not walk so I am still on crutches. I don't know what to do next. PT is trying to get me to do more but when we do too much the pain increases. I know that there will be pain when you first start doing something but I have never had anything like this. I have had several knee surgeries and other broken bones but they were never an issue. WC says just continue with PT there is nothing can be done, so I better just work through the pain and it will go away.

THanks for reading this long post. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
