Hey bluehen, I'm here. Been traveling (without my laptop) and one week the internet police here banned me for some reason, but I guess I'm up and running again. I have no idea what I said. Oh well, hopefully you're getting this. Things have been busy here, how are you?

There you are...I was getting concerned!! Maybe you listed a web site or something and they banned you for that? Anyway, been really slacking here. Diet was horrendous over mother's day weekend, where we went to both families and had a piece of cake at one and cookies at the other house. My workouts have been not very productive, I've been tired with all the packing and having the kids on my own with the hub coming home late and my mom too busy to help me out. I think I might just kind of go with the attitude of I will work out as best I can when I can and eat healthy and then really buckle down for the month of June once I settle in the new house, unpack, etc or else I will just frustrate myself that I am not getting in good workouts and thus not getting any closer to my goal.

Also, I know this is off topic and for another board, I am getting lasik eye surgery June 30th so I hope by July 1 I will have perfect vision and the my goal body weight :) . Wishful thinking!!

I have the same attitude as you....once I get caught up I'll start pushing myself, right now I'm just doing good to maintain. I was not able to get in the gym this week because of my traveling, but am in town all next week and plan to hit it hard. Then I'm out again on the 24th -26th without a gym and will be eating bad! So, I can understand your frustrations!

Good luck with your lasik! My aunt had that done is worked for her. She's extremely excited with the outcome.

Well, I'm off to see my doc about changing up my asthma meds. I had a bad weekend last weekend until the rain hit and then I was fine. But Fri & Sat was so bad and my meds were not working. I'm glad I'm able to continue to post again with you....I was really missing the chats! I'll have to read through some of the posts tonight and hopefully learn more and maybe put my 2 cents in here and there.

My problem is I'm a very all or nothing kind of person. I don't like doing things half way, I rather not do anything, but I know in the case of exercise and diet having that attitude is a good way to lose the progress I worked very hard to achieve. I also always weigh all my food and I have been slacking with that as well which makes me feel I am over eating when I don't know exactly how much I am eating. I know I'm a bit crazy with these things. I get like this until I reach my goal than once I get there I get crazy about every little thing I do/eat in fear I will gain it back. Very unhealthy attitude, I need to work on.

I've been told that I'm a little over obsessive on my work outs and eating, but I'm like you, if I don't watch what I'm doing and eating I will get out of hand. That's where I'm at right now. I was gone all week and ate out. So, no measuring, tried to make good decisions on where to eat out, but still feel guilty. Maybe we can figure out together how to not be so obsessive! We both have a lot of things ging on right now. Your packing and moving, managing a house hold with twins and I've been traveling, eating out, working out less, so maybe June can be a new start. Once you get moved, unpacked and my traveling slows down, I'm sure we both can get back on a routine. Things work better for me when I am on a routine. I was hoping to look a little better before my vacation in June, but I'm just hoping to maintain. Oh well, I'm not going to let it ruin my vacation. Sure there's going to be miss thing out there in her size 2 bikini, but there will also be someone out there trying to fit into her swimsuit, so being in the middle isn't so bad after all. I was hoping that my workout buddy could motivate me, but she's devastated that our trainer may be leaving. I only have 11 sessions left and told you that I wasn't going to re-new, but she has only 3 sessions left and if she can't train with him, then she's not re-newing. I'm a little worried because I don't think she can do it on her own and I'm not here enough to motivate her during the week. I'm sure it will all work out. She's really down, but I can't let her mood effect me.

I'm going to read through some of these and get caught up. Hopefully I can stay awake! I'm really tired from my business trip, but not sleepy....yet.

I'll catch up with you later!

I think you hit the nail on the head!! My problem is that I can't ever get into a routine, with my kids in terms of a workout. I kind of do what I do when I can whatever I can. Before my kids I was so planned and structured to the minute. I knew what I would be eating and exercising next thursday. Now I can't plan anything...it depends on if this one sleeps or the mood of this baby. I find this new lifestyle a very big adjustment and frustrating. Its hard when you know what you need to do to achieve your goal, but there's all these other unpredictable things in your life that interfere. Not that I don't love my kids to death. I know down the road it will get better as they get older and able to do more things on their own and become less of "mommy babies" all the time. I guess we just do the best we can. Everyone has some sort of obstacle in their life whether its work, family, health problem, etc.

I will still stick with my plan for June. Actually I will start Monday May 30th because I want to be done taking my tetracal before my lasik. Hopefully the tetracal will give me the edge I think I need to push on further.

By the way....one thing I have learned is that no matter where you go there will always be that person who will look better in their bathing suit than you no matter what your weight, size, body fat, etc. That's life!! I used to compare like that, but now I compare myself to other moms with kids older than mine and say to myself, I look better than so and so and I bet she didn't deleivery 2 kids at once :) .

Just enjoy your vacation. Where are you headed if you don't mind me asking. I like to vicariously live through people who have lives and take vacations :) .

I am going to Cabo San Lucas. A well deserved vacation! I've been there before with 3 other friends and this time I'm going to visit a friend who moved there with her bubby and daughter. They've been there 2 years and love it. I'm not sure what he does there because all I think about is the only American people there sell all those time shares! I don't think that's what he does, but I'll find out. Not sure if my friend is working full time or part time, but she coordinates weddings. She's a great event organizer and I can see her planning weddings. I can't wait! It will be a different trip this time, no chasing boys and probably no booze cruise, but I'm thinking a day at the spa, a couple of days by the pool or beach and definitely having a few drinks at one of the bars. A couple of girlfriends and I are planning a girls fun trip to Cancun in September. This one will be the "wild" trip. Not sure if we are going to do the cruise that leaves from Galveston (about 45 min from my house) or just fly into Cancun. I've never done the cruise thing and not sure that's for me. I have some Continental miles I can use to get myself there and am willing to use my Marriott points for the hotel, my girlfriends will just need to buy their airline tickets. I'm also thinking about taking my godson to Seaworld (in San Antonio, TX) sometime over the summer. Neither one of us have been and his parents said it was ok for me to take him. I'd rather take him to Disney World, but his parents want to take him and I totally understand. That's my plans for the summer. How about you?

Wow, you have a lot going on!! We agreed not to overnight vacation until these babies can eat real people food and are out of diapers. Too much to pack and worry about. My inlaws have a house down the shore in LBI (Long Beach Island, NJ), so we head down there most weekends. Otherwise, day trips, maybe central park zoo in NY, and other day trip places. I do miss vacationing though, we certainly did our share before the kids......Hawaii, Aruba, carribean cruise, Vegas, barbados, it was fun, maybe once the kids are older we can go somewhere like that again. Its good you are doing this all now, you'll be glad when its your time to have kids if that's in the cards for you. Do everything now. I mean everything....before your friday nights resort to your hub out at a work dinner, your kids are sleeping and you are on the laptop typing away watching Honeymoon in Vegas for the millionth time :) .

That's so funny! I'm on my laptop in my bed using the wireless thing going through the boards and watching the same thing, for the millionth time as well!! I'm waiting for Clean Sweep or What Not to Wear which ever comes on at 10 (central time). I also love that show In a Fix. Also like Sparky, the electrical guy.

I try and take a vacation at least 2 times during the summer. I've never been to NY and would love to plan a girls trip. Catch a play, see the sights and all. I'm a big "Sex and the City" fan. Maybe I can find my "Mr Big" while I'm there! Loved Aruba! The past couple of resorts I've been to had a lot of parents traveling with their kids. In fact, while in Aruba I did see a lady with twins. She was there with her hubby and brought her parents along to help babysit. Nice idea, but I'm with you on the too much to pack thing! When my godson comes over he packs like he's going to stay a week and when he was in diapers it was worse. Can't image having to double all that. WOW!

I usually stay in on Friday nights especially if I've been traveling. I was in Dallas Wed and got home this afternoon so I'm home with the dogs. One is on the bed and the other on the floor by the bed. I'll hit the gym tomorrow and have a birthday party tomorrow afternoon. One of my friends sons is turning 2. I bought him this leap frog thing. It's a frog and has the alphabet on his tummy and bought some type of book on potty training. I can't rememer the name, but it was cute. I spoil all my friends kids. I hope someday when I have one they will remember how generous I was.

Hey bluehen! How are you?

Please tell me if you know, but I remember reading on here about "How much Protein" and can't find it. But am I suppose to be eating 1 gram of protein for my total body weight or lean mass weight? And where else can I get my protein from besides egg whites, chicken and tuna? I don't do the shakes and really can't stomach shakes, bars or anything like that. Thanks!

Hi frustrated 35, I believe its .8-1 gram of protein per pound of total body weight if you are weight training. You can get protein from cottage cheese, yogurt (watch the sugar), shellfish (shrimp, scallops) all seafood (salmon, mahi mahi, flounder are good ones), turkey, turkey burgers, kidney beans have a decent amount 8 grams per half cup, nuts have some, other leans meats you could try center cut pork chops, 93% lean ground beef (not sure if your a beef or meat eater), veal is lean. I know you can't stomach shakes, but you can use whey protein powder and sprinkle it in things like oatmeal, or a smoothie. Hope this helps.

I forgot about fish! Thanks! Can't do the dairy products, but love a good steak every once in a while. I might need to try the whey protein powder in my oatmeal and I do have a smoothie machine. How about adding some protein powder to a margarita? Which type of whey do you use and can I get it at GNC?

I think you can add the whey to anything pretty much, but I don't think you can heat it without destroying the benefits of it. I use designer protein, its a bit bland, but I don't care because I never drink it straight, I always add fruit and blend it for an after workout drink, most places carry it and its relativiely inexpensive compared to others. I get mine at the vitamin shop, and I believe GNC carries it too.

Thanks! i've heard of the vit shop, but GNC is closer so I'll start there.
