View Full Version : Disolvable Stitches

I had my wisdom teeth pulled 3 1/2 weeks ago and the holes were stitched up with disolvable stitches. Thing is they are still there, is this normal? I thought they'd be gone by now! One is very tender, it hurts when I touch it with my tounge, the others are ok but just annoying. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for disolvable stitches to actually disolve?

Thank you,

Cherylle

My disolvable stitches were supposed to disolve (or whatever) in 5 to 7 days. I was impatient, because they didn't feel like they were going to give, so I tugged a little on them on day 6 and they came out. It didn't hurt, I think they just needed a little encouragement.

You should call your dentist. They can remove them. Normally, they should desolve though.
