I have been constipated, I take 2 citracel pills a day with lots of water.Metamucil just gassed me really really bad to the point I could not breath. I did have a upper gi with small bowel follow thru that just showed gasritis of the stomach. Because of a complaint with it feeling like being stuck in low left area and up under ribs. I have also been under extreme stress and several antidepressants/anxiety meds have been tried on me(all they do is wire me alot) Zoloft the first day did give me diarrehea.I have been to a few doctors for this problem. ALl I get it told fiber and water. And have bowel sounds but sounds like things dont know which way to go(which I was told was a thyroid issue)thyroid tests were fine. Was told i have infected hemmroids which were treated. I am on bi-est and progestorone creams also being in menopause. Lastnight taking my evening primrose had some slight upper back pain and went down side. Today when I was sitting on toilet(was not straining that hard)thought I was passing something and got scared when it was not stool. I called hospital and talked to my doctor she said it sounded like a rectul prolapse. When I do have movements there small and thru the day. I was also told I have IBS -but zelnorm made it feel like I had alot of pressure in gallbladder area. I am really worried over this bowel issue. I feel so full but feel like doctors are not that concerned. Doing enemas I pass some hard, but than alot of mucus after. After the upper gi-I was given milk of magnesia to clean the barium out of me. I did not pass alot of stuff-with short lived diarrehea. After a few days I think it is out now. I can not have full stools. I have felt this up high feeling since a chiro adjustment, another chiro did not find anything. I keep getting told it is stress and I think to much about it, hard not to when you feel so full.
I dont know where to go next. Another chiro? gallbladder checked? Or something down below?
I have had colonics a couple of years ago and my rectum has been in bad shape since.
Does anyone have any insight?
I got despareate and found a woman that does muscle testing over the phone to see what is not working right, she keeps telling me my pituatary isn't. You think a doc would know if it was that, I dont even know what symtoms are from that. Sigh! I am in misery. And I try deep breathing and relaxing things. Just dont know what to do.

Dee,
Stress can cause alot of problems but so can medication have side effects that also are drug/meds related.
My suggestion is to get on a simple diet, eat things that agree with your system and make sure you intake 25 to 35 grams of fiber daily. It needs to be divided between soluble and insoluble fiber so your intestines work properly. I'll bet you are not eating 15 grams of fiber daily and certainly not enough water.
Small stools usually mean you are not drinking enough water or water soluble fiber --- so be sure to drink enough water daily -- not sodas, coffee or teas-- your body is made up of about 65% water not other drinks!!
I wish you well---Harry
