My dad had ileostomy operation March 3rd, since then he has been wearing the tempoary bag ... Anway he was doing really well until yeaterday, where he was careless and had a lot of pork meat without in take much of vegitable and without doing much exercise... Anyway since last night 11PM, he has not had bowl movement and he vomit about twice and had a little gas coming out... We read the instruction and drank hot tea and took shower... and even took some prune juice, so far, his lower abdonimal no longer felt hard, but he still do not have bowl movement and the bag is still empty.
Is there something else we can do?

Yes, don't panic. Have him drink lots of water and if he's going to use prune juice, it should be warmed first.

He is OK now, I thank the internet, I read a lot on the internet that hot tea also helps, and also movement where he would lay his back and lift his knees to his abdominal and just rock side to side.. Prune juice definitely helps,, Yes Warm..

Tigerfish, if there is an ostomy association in your town then perhaps they can give you a local person to try and contact whenthere are bumps in the road like this. It might be faster.
