What is you guys' opinion of starting a yearly regimen of Colonscopies for someone in their early 20's? I thought it would be a good thing (it may be too late for me now, I dont have large amounts of blood, but occasionally ill see something red in there) but I have also heard some doctors actually beginning to say that this may actually be not only detremental to the health system, but also may be detremental for the PATIENT who wants to have them (I do not remember the details, and I do not remember if they were specifically talking about a patients MENTAL health, or actual Physical risks of starting so many tests so early in life).

I am so afraid when I see how young the cases on this board are. In the entire time Ive been following the cancer boards, I have seen that it is the EXCEPTION to the rule for their to be those here OLDER than 50 that have caught it early. And if the ACS is spreading the message to start getting tested at 50 years old what good is that gonna do?

I think colonoscopies need to start at age 30 based on the average age I see on this board. At the VERY LEAST!! I think we should be doing imaging scans (I think Katie Couric has spoken about Imaging methods before, even if they are not as effective as Colonoscopy) or stool sample testing at these ages, any defense is better than none.

Just my thoughts.
