View Full Version : What could this type of pain indicate?

I had an apicoectomy last Tuesday and needed motrin through the day and night the first day, every six hours. By Wednesday I was very sore and I am now bruised and swollen (my left eye and left side of my face) but I was not in anymore actual pain. Well, yesterday I woke up with abscess like pain and have been needing to take mortin, advil, etc. every few hours since then. My temp, in the evening yesterday and today only, has been very slightly elevated (not quite 100). Could this indicate that it is infected? If so, what will need to be done?

TIA!

Nancy

fever pain and swelling sure sounds like its infected. call your doc or dentist. And more then likely you will need to take a antibiotic.

Thanks so much.

It was indeed an infection and I am on penicillin.
