every time i ever had a cold or something, it always left me with a huge amount of throat mucus. this past yr my allergies have caused multiple sinus infections. my doc ordered a ct scan and found a deviated septum and fungus mass. i am 3 weeks post sinus surgery and septoplasty but im still very stuffy with excessive pnd in my throat. my cough is very tight, and im really not able to clear. does this sound like cf? i asked my doc a while back but he said no, if u had cf you would know it. how?? cant u just start devloping thse symptoms as an adult?

Cf is a genetic disease, both of your parents would have to be carriers for u to get this and depending how old u are they do a sweat test when you are born to see if you have cf. in cf congestion is just one symptom there could also be gastrointestinal problems and malnutrition, and many other problems in the body and a lot of cf patients have clubed fingers...i really dont think that what u have sounds like cf

It doesn't sound like it. I've always had a gagging choking cough and from a young age when cough and gag up mucus every morning. So my cough has always been productive or atleast loose sounding. And had problems with mucus plugs and lung infections.Cough to you puke also
Of course it possible but rare to have CF which manifests intself only in sinus problems

it could be CF, it might not. Since you're wondering, I'd go ahead and get a sweat test just to make sure. I was diagnosed just a month or so ago (I am 20 years old) and I do not have any digestive problems; just chronic sinusitis and I have had stuff in my chest that had not gone away for a long time and tons of mucus. After researching CF I decided to get tested, and my sweat test was positive, and my genetic test results confirmed that I do have CF, but it appears to be a milder form. While I was diagnosed later as an adult, I have had the disease my whole life; since it is genetic it doesn't just randomly start one day, but if you have milder symptoms the doctors may be late diagnosing you. In short, it wouldn't hurt to be tested. :)
