I was listening to a band last Sunday night for a little over three hours with 5 friends. The next day I was the only person that woke up and could not hear, had static and ringing in my ears and was in the process of losing my voice. Having allergies most of my life I thought that was some of it but something seemed off. After the issues did not go away, I went to an ENT that told me I had sudden hearing loss and following a few tests learned that my hearing is serverely damaged and the doctors can't guarantee some or all of it will come back. I'm now on oral steroids, which is helping with the side effects, but I still have many of them, and can't hear in crowds or if people are not talking to me directly.
I was wondering it anyone has or knows anyone that has experienced this and can share recovery results or thoughts on the best way to get results. Currently, this is not called anything but "sudden hearing loss from loud noise" and I have not been able to get commetns from others with this issue.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks.
