View Full Version : Pencil thin stools...does it mean the cancer is to far gone?

I'm 36 years old and on Easter I noticed my stools were thin. They have been alternating from normal to pencil thin. I have a colonosopy scheduled for the end of the month, but I'm going crazy with worry. Since the stools are thin, does that mean the cancer is really big? I tried to research this, but I'm not finding much on it. Thanks

No point is worrying till colonoscopy is done. It can be benign tumor (if there is one). which are very much curable by surgery. If you are so worried, then try to get the colonoscopy sooner.

I suppose it is possible for a tumour to fold out of the way and allow a normal shape stool but I know that in my case it simply got thinner and thinner never going back to normal. However an internal hemmerhoid would shrink and swell depending on blood pressure and other factors.

Don't get ahead of yourself, wait for the results of the c'scope.

jaydees, what kind of cancer did you have? Did you have any other symptoms? Thanks for taking the time to reply
