gfd 05-10-2005, 06:29 PM MY cousin said in e-mail today her sister had miscarriage yesterday there going through hard time right now I dont know what to say so I can write her back on the e-mail. kt41577 05-12-2005, 12:32 PM let her know that your there for support, if possible try to call them on the phone rather then e-mail. messages can be hard when typed, I started another thread about my friend who lost her baby after surgery. read some of the advice from that, it really helped me. there is not much that can be said when a baby dies. just be there for them, and sometimes no words at all can be just as helpful. I will keep them in my prayers. Hope2Heal 05-14-2005, 06:48 PM HI I lost my baby at 36 weeks gestation. I had him C-section and was shocked to come out of general anesthesia to be informed he "didn't make it" It was the biggest shock of my life. I wouldn't of made it without support from family and friends. What helped me the most from people was those who let me talk about it and cry on their shoulders. People who called me a few times a week to check on me and those who said "I'm coming by to bring dinner whats a good time?" Those who had also lost a baby and shared their story with me. What helped the least was the people who said" call me if you need anything at all" and never bothered to call me back after that. I absolutely could not pick up the phone and was too depressed to call anyone. I didn't want to bother anyone with my problems. So those who came to me were the most helpful and I will never forget the kindness of those people. Let your cousin know about online support. There are a lot of websites including this one that can help her connect to others who have gone through this. |
