Got a letter today with a Temporary Password Request Code #. It says the # is not a password, use it to create a password before June 13. It then says "if you are a new beneficiary, please make sure you have received your notice of benefit payment or your first payment before you register a password."
I haven't received either a notice or first payment.
 Does SS just give out these numbers to anyone who has applied, or is this a good sign?

I believe i got the same type of letter but it was after i had been approved and not before.Maybe this IS a good sign.I never did anything with it as my actual letter(i had found out on the phone)did not arrive before that date that was stated on the letter.I still don't know just exactly what it was all about.Does anyone else know just what this was for??Marcia

:bouncing: :bouncing: I am approved! Because I have a spinal cord injury(hurt in car wreck 1978) and had received SSI 1980 - 1982, I don't think SS even looked at current medical records. I worked full time for 20 years, and when my medical problems kept piling up, I made the decision to quit working and concentrate on helping my body recover or at least not get worse. I had ACDF on C5-6-7 on April 1st, am still fighting Horner's syndrome from something that happened during surgery, but otherwise feel fairly good. Big relief to be approved for SSDI.
