From what I understand the cases of sterility only come up when an STD goes untreated for a long time.... I really dont think that you have anything to worry about right now seeing it seems that you caught yours very early on Best of Luck to you Keep us posted

When i thought I had chlamydia (it was actually something else) I asked the nurse how it would affect my fertility and she said that it wouldn't. She also said that it would only affect a woman if it was left untreated for a long time. I even asked her what if I had the disease for a few years and she said it would be ok, it only matters if it goes undetected for years and years. Was happy to find out it wasn't actually chlamydia anyway.
Any info on the net will basically just tell you the same thing - ie that chlamydia will effect you if it goes untreated for a long time.
Gonnohrea twice AND chlamydia?? I'm not judging or anything but ya gotta get yourself some condoms girl! Or at least get the guy to check himself out before you sleep with him!

what are the chances of having gon/chly for years and it going unnoticed? i thought you had symptoms pretty soon after being exposed to the virus? also, what are your chances of getting them  from kissing someone?

The chances are so great that you could have chlamydia or gonnorhea for years and years with out knowing it. The only reason some women find out is when they have trouble conceiving. I think the problem is symptoms can be mild, you can also put down those symptoms to something else, or in a lot of people's cases you just don't get symptoms. Chlamydia is also knowsn as the "silent killer" because some people don't get symptoms even though they have the disease.
Some people might have symptoms like bleeding after sex or pain during urination which might be mistaken for rough sex or a bladder infection. It's pretty easy to miss.
I don't know what the chances getting it from kissing someone are. It's probably low enough, I'm not sure about gonnorhea but I know chlamydia is really common. Thankfully it's easily treated.

ok thanks for the advice. i still think i want to ask a dr about it tho. just wanted to get some regular people advice too. i know i know scarlett_. i was not a very careful person. actually i was very careless with a very low selfasteem. but i have been with the same person fro 8 months now and we did go together to get checked out. eloise21 when i had gonnorhea i didnt even have any symptoms till like 4 months into it. then i started having low abdomen pains and brownish redish discharge. the second time i didnt have any symptoms just went for a regular exam and they called me back and told me i had it. with the chlamydia i just had bleeding between my periods and stomach "rumbling". not really even a lot of pain. then i started feelin really sick, just like i had the flu or a really bad cold. so i went to the hospital. they told me i had it. so you can have it and not even know for a long time. good thing i caught mine early!!!!! now i just got to get rid of the bv(at least i think and hope thats what it is). but you can get that even if your a virgin(its not a std-well the nurse told me it wasnt).
